History of the World Science Day for Peace & Development
You know that every year, the Nobel Prize is given for the activity of science. Though science has benefited us for a long time, we have to celebrate the day since 2002. At first, the British Association proposed to establish a science day or week.
Afterward, UNESCO’s executive board responded to the proposal (October 1999, Paris). After two years, The 31st Session of the UNESCO General Conference (Paris, October–November 2001) decided to proclaim 10 November of each year World Science Day for Peace & Development to participate actively in the event.
