Though it is a Pandemic, the Government of India invited UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson as chief guest to attend and celebrate the 72nd anniversary of Republic Day in India. 2024 is a different celebrating year from other years because of COVID-19 affection.
Although India gained independence on 15 August 1947, Republic Day has been celebrated since 26 January 1950. The Republic Day of India is a public holiday, and Banks, Schools, and Colleges are closed. 29 Kingdoms of India are ready to observe the day with more parades.
History of Republic Day in India
India achieved independence from the British on 15 August 1947 but didn’t set their Government. George VI, the king of the United Kingdom, and Mountbatten, the NAVY officer, both began a temporary parliament until the Government of India Act was created in 1935.
India didn’t get its republic and was appointed to contact the permanent Constitution with a draft by submitting to the Constituent Assembly on 4 November 1947; more than three months later, 308 members of the Constituent Assembly signed a document on 24 January 1950. Dr Rajendra Prasad began his first term as President of the Indian Union. The Constituent Assembly became the Parliament of India under the new Constitution’s transitional provisions and observed the Republic Day of India on 26 January 1950 with peace of mind among Indian people.

Every year, the Indian Prime minister invites a foreign person who comes to India to observe Republic Day better. The chief guest makes the day so glorious that people enjoy it more on 26 January, Republic Day in India. It is time to promote the day worldwide. India achieved independence from the British. The UK’s Prime Minister Bori, Johnson received Narendra Modi’s invitation on Republic Day on 26 January. Therefore, India has taken the necessary steps to make Republic Day successful.
We included the chief guest list, who came to India and made Republic Day successful in different years. At first, in 1950, the chief guest was The Indonesian President Sukarno, the first Chief guest on the very first Republic Day parade at Rajpath, New Delhi In,dia.
Though it is a Pandemic, Boris Johnson is interested in India honouring the excellent event in 2021; the following chief guest list converts better to understand the importance of the Republic Day of India.
By inviting a foreign leader or vital person, India wants to create a good relationship between the two countries. No person loves Indian culture.
What Do People Do?
More than 70% of Indian people are young. The young people at schools and colleges celebrate the Republic Day of India. We have some memories while reading in a school or college. Therefore, we attended the Republic Day celebration conference similarly.
All the School or College staff and students make the day remarkable by giving entertainment & valuable speeches.
- Parade Display: Students display the day with Indian culture and activities through body language and speech.
- Speech: The parade may be glorious by the students’ speeches. One could best present the importance of Republic Day in India.
- Indian classical dances, yoga performances, acrobats, drills, and other activities are seen in the parade.
- Awards and medals of bravery are given on the parade
